A.C.F Army | Meet Mireille Mali Digital Nomad & Travel Junkie

Meet Mireille Mali, Founder of China Geek and Mireillemali.com A Holland native Mireille fell in love with Asia, she shares how she lives a conscious lifestyle and where she find her style inspiration. Mireille is just about to embark on a trip across Europe and then hop on over to Brazil. We cannot wait to hear about her adventures out there! [row] [col span="6" span__sm="12"] [ux_image id="8572"] [/col] [col span="6" span__sm="12"] [ux_image id="8577"] [/col] [/row] Mireille leads a fast paced lifestyle, owning a company and running her blog as a business, “Blogging is not just something you do on the side anymore.”, requiring constant creative focus and energy.  She tells us how she stays mindful while having so much going on. Mireille says, “Follow your intuition. Whatever your problem may be about. If it’s your body, your mind, or something you want to achieve in life, your intuition is what gets you to the places you want to go.” She believes this is a key message for anyone. Going with her gut makes her more relaxed; whatever mistakes she makes along that road, at least she was true to herself. Mireille’s flexible lifestyle may seem like a dream, but she has worked hard to get here. After studying Mandarin and Business, Mireille joined the corporate world but knew it wasn’t right for her. Discovering she had an autoimmune disease forced her to reevaluate her life. She says, “I wanted more from life, and I couldn’t get that from working at a desk in an office”. So she travelled for a year to find out what truly mattered to her. Realising that there was so much more world to see, a year was not enough, she thought to herself, “No, I’m not done yet.” So she has created a lifestyle that allows her wot work and travel. Using her mandarin and business skills, she advises brands moving into the China market. Her ambitions have no boundaries, “My aim is to have this business location independent. My working life is flexible and I work with people all over the world.” Mireille believes that going digital allows her the freedom from an office, and loves that it's better for the environment too! The environment is also her favourite thing about A.C.F clothing, she saying “I love that A.C.F is sustainable.” An admirer of the brand, Mireille says, “Anyone who tries to do something with their passion while also helping the planet is my inspiration.” Believing that we can use social media for good, Mireille thinks that more people can use their passions to help the planet, “With all the effort that we put into our social media accounts and growing our businesses, why don’t we try to put it into something good.” As she is always on the go Mireille is a lover of street style and looking chic while staying comfortable. A.C.F clothing is a travel essential, “Her whole line and style inspires me.” We are looking forward to seeing Mireille rock some A.C.F while on her next adventure! M: I think breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I’m always hungry. I try to eat wholesome foods and organically as much as possible. J: How do you manage a wholesome organic diet while travelling? M: I try to find a balance. I want to try all the local food, and sometimes that does include meat. Even though I’m not a vegan or vegie, I prefer not to eat too much meat. And you don’t know where all the street food is coming from, So sometimes I try some street food, or I’ll google a healthy hotspot beforehand. J:  Where do you find inspiration- how would you describe your style? M : I’m very bohemian, i’m travelling quite a lot and have to be comfortable and adapt to the environment wherever I am. In terms of beauty I don’t do anything too exciting, I like my hair loose and natural which luckily is hassle free!  I tend to find my fashion inspo on pinterest! J: Do you shop sustainably while traveling? M :I like to buy vintage clothes when I’m travelling or from local marketplaces. I must confess I don’t research every single purchase so unfortunately sometimes you don’t know where the clothes come from. You don’t know how sustainable they are.  It’s not that easy to know when you are on the go. It’s all about preparation J: How do you make sure you’re an eco friendly traveller? M: I don’t buy plastic bottles. I bring my bottle from home and cook myself as much as I can. If I’m on the beach, I always take my garbage with me. When traveling, it's hard to avoid packaging, because you are always on the go. I encourage my followers to be eco friendly, when I was last in Bali, I saw so much plastic in the ocean and it really upset me, I blogged about it and tried to encourage my followers to be more aware. J: Do you feel a responsibility to your readers to inform them about sustainable issues? M: It's so important to do something good as an influencer, for me social media is more about adding value to people's lives; Even if it is just a little bit of information about a place that I go to. I try to be very informative or in an instagram post, I try to use some chinese philosophies or talk about water usage. Because I feel like it's important to do more than be like ‘Hey look at me” J:What are you travel essentials? M: I’m pretty easy going. Underwear, a toothbrush, and I always bring a red lipstick. I can make any outfit work with a red lipstick and it saves me packing a ton of clothes. J: What makes Hong Kong style unique? M : Hong Kong is a fashion melting pot, with influences from Korean & Japanese fashion paired with a pinch of european style. J: You seem to have overcome a lot, what advice do you give to your readers to be mindful and strong willed? M: To friends and to anyone, i would say; follow your intuition because your intuition is always right. Whatever it is about. If its about your body or about your mind, or something you want to achieve in life, intuition is what gets you to the places you want to go. It's what helps you feel more relaxed. Because if you’re doing something that you’re being, that you feel good about, what can go wrong. You can just learn from any mistakes that might happen on the road to that but at least it's your decision and you followed you intuition. I think that’s the main thing that I try to do when it comes to my own autoimmune disease. [ux_image id="8575"] For travel, lifestyle and style inspo check out Mireille's blog HERE
