I'm a firm believer that you can never wear too much denim. It just works. With everything. Always.
My favorite pairing when it comes to denim is, to no surprise, denim on denim. I love mixing different shades and hues of indigo to create the perfect look. My first time attempting the Canadian tuxedo was back in college. I saw a picture of Kanye at an awards show, and I was inspired to recreate the look. Kanye wears a lot of denim on denim, and he's always on point. Although the Canadian tuxedo has been around for decades, its timelessness makes it an outfit staple for denim connoisseurs like myself. So, when I received my denim jacket from A.C.F, I immediately knew I wanted to pay tribute to this classic look.
I fell in love with the jacket's two-toned wash, which made it easy to incorporate other shades of blue. I kept a slightly baggy look on top to keep with the oversized look of the jacket. On the bottom half, I went with a slimmer and lighter look to break up the color scheme. And we can't forget about the shoes! When I saw them I had to have them. I stalked Bloomingdales' website for weeks until my size was in stock. I've never been one to give up easily, especially when it comes to fashion. I love the shoes because they are a hybrid of a Chelsea boot and a sneaker. After much anticipation, they turned out to be the perfect finishing touch.
Fashion snobs have many do's and dont's when it comes to wearing denim on denim. "Don't wear the same wash or shade of denim", "Don't accessorize with denim", and so on and so forth. I say break all the rules. You'd be surprise what you can create.
